On Wednesday 14th February, Key Stage one went into the hall to celebrate Chinese New Year with a variety of activities.
The children were put into groups and moved around the hall to complete these activities:
• Chinese writing.
• Chinese number writing.
• Eating rice with chopsticks – this was a tricky task!
• Maths challenge.
• Chinese codebreaker.
• Mindfulness colouring.
In the afternoon we watched video clips of dragon and lion dances that take place during Chinese New Year Parades. In groups, the children then had a go at working together to create a lion dance using materials. It was lots of fun!
To end our day we sang the song Gung Hay Fat Choy which is a song about Chinese New Year wishing you good fortune and happiness.
Everyone in Key Stage One had a great day and we all made lots of memories.
