A bird’s nest is the spot in which it lays its eggs and raises its young. These can usually be found in trees, bushes or in a burrow dug into the ground.
In our forest school session we looked at a real bird’s nest and discussed what materials birds might use. We then collected our own materials, like leaves, twigs and moss from the school grounds and worked in groups to make our own nests. We tried to ensure our nests were strong and sturdy with enough room for a bird and their eggs.
